Tax Appeal 2026
When your baby is in intensive care, you don’t leave.
You stay.
As close as you possibly can.
But for families like Ophelia’s, staying close isn’t always possible.
Because of people like you, Mary and Ben were able to stay at Ronald McDonald House Adelaide—just minutes from the hospital, so they could be there every single day.
Your support helps provide:
- A place to stay close to hospital
- Warm meals after long days
- Clean linen and essentials for rest and comfort
Most importantly, it helps families stay together during their child’s treatment.

Ophelia's Story
Ben and Mary live more than 300 kilometres from Adelaide.
When complications during pregnancy meant their baby needed specialist care, they had to leave home and travel to the city, facing weeks away from everything familiar.
Then, at just 28 weeks, Ophelia was born.
There was only time for a quick kiss before she was rushed into intensive care.
But alongside the fear of what lay ahead, Ben and Mary faced another frightening reality… they had nowhere nearby to stay.
Without somewhere close to the hospital, they would have been forced to drive hours home, and leave their baby behind.
Thanks to the support of people like you, they didn’t have to.
They were able to stay at Ronald McDonald House, just minutes from Ophelia’s bedside, so they could be there every single day.
After long days in hospital, they returned to a place where they could rest and keep going.
A warm meal waiting.
A bed to sleep in.
Fresh linen and essentials.
The kinds of things that made it possible to be there for their child, again and again.
Today, more families are still facing the same question:
Where will we stay?
Your support can help make sure they don’t have to leave their child behind.
Holding families together when it matters most.
When a child becomes ill or injured, it affects the entire family. Families miss work. Families miss paychecks. Families miss meals. Not for convenience - but for love. Because family stays.Frequently asked tax time questions
