Our toughest journey... and the greatest reason to give back ❤️

When Henry was born, our world changed in an instant. He was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, (an excess of fluid buildup in the brain) caused by a brain bleed during pregnancy. What we thought would be a short hospital stay turned into 2 months at the Women's and Children's Hospital.

At just one day old, Henry underwent his first brain surgery. Over the next 10 weeks, our brave little boy had two additional brain surgeries, including the insertion of a VP shunt. There were days filled with fear, uncertainty, tears, and countless moments where we didn't know what the next day would bring.

Throughout it all, one place became our home away from home – Ronald McDonald House.

With Henry in NICU for the first 2 weeks of life and unable to stay with him, having somewhere close to the hospital meant we could stay together as a family and be just minutes from Henry whenever he needed us. It took away one less thing to worry about during the hardest time of our lives, and for that, we will be forever grateful.

Today, Henry is a happy, smiley little boy who continues to amaze us every single day.

While our journey isn't over, we're so thankful for how far he's come.

That's why we're taking part in Henry's City to Bay – to give back to the charity that gave so much to us.

Every donation will help provide a home away from home for other families facing their own toughest days.

If you're able to support us by donating, sharing this post, or cheering us on, we'd be incredibly grateful.

Every step we take is in honour of Henry's journey and for the families who will need Ronald McDonald House in the future. ❤️
